Also known as “Purple Cayenne”, this North American Heirloom matures through a rainbow of colours, from green, to purple to pink, to orangey brown and ultimately red. If picked when still purple, the fruits have a more subdued flavour; when harvested fully mature and red they possess a deep smoky spiciness! The flowers of this variety are white and purple.
