HERB: MULLEIN

(VERBASCUM THAPSUS L.)

Also known as Aaron’s rod, Jacob’s staff, Blanket weed, Candlewick, Flannel leaf, Shepherd’s club, or Velvet Dock.

A rosette of grey green woolly leaves that can be used as toilet paper. Also has applications in herbal medicine.

Care must be taken as it will readily self-seed.

GROWING TIPS

It will grow in poor, rocky soils and is often found as a roadside weed.
